New President of Food for West Africa

The Director for African Center of Excellence in Dryland Agriculture (CDA), Bayero University, Kano, Professor Jibrin Muhammed Jibrin has taken over as the new President of Food for West Africa. He succeeded Professor Kokou Tona the Director of Center of Excellence for Poultry Science (CERSA) OF Togo.

Food for West Africa is a group of seven (7) Centers of Excellence in Africa dedicated to the agricultural sector. The seven (7) Centers that make up the network are:

  • African Center of Excellence in Dryland Agriculture (CDA) of Nigeria;
  • African Center of Excellence in Agriculture for Food and Nutritional Security (AGRISAN) of Senegal;
  • Regional Center of Excellence for Poultry Science (CERSA) of Togo;
  • Regional Center of Excellence on Pastoral Production (CERPP) in Niger;
  • Center Foo Food Technology and Research (CEFTER) of Nigeria;
  • Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Agriculture (CCBAD) of Cote d’Ivoire;
  • West Africa Center for Crop Improvement (WACCI) of Ghana.

While congratulating Professor J. M. Jibrin on his election to the regional body of researchers, SSSN solicits for further collaboration with the body.
