The Soil Science Society of Nigeria, in its 47th Annual Conference hosted at University of Nigeria, Nsukka, conferred the prestigious award of fellowship to Prof. Nafi’u Abdu of the Department of Soil Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

A renowned scholar, Prof. Nafi’u Abdu is a Prof. of Soil Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Prof. Nafi’u Abdu was born on 17th November, 1974 and obtained his Bachelors in Agriculture with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2000. He also obtained a Master of Science Degree in Soil Science from the same University in 2006. Prof. Nafi’u Abdu also studied at the University of Kassel, Germany for his PhD from 2007 to 2010 and obtained Dr. agrar (Dr. of Agriculture).
He joined the services of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2002 as Assistant Lecturer and rose steadily through the ranks to his terminal promotion to the rank of Professor Soil Chemistry in August 7th, 2020.
Prof. Nafi’u Abdu has co-authored publications in all the continents of the World and is a reviewer of numerous scientific journals in Nigeria and the world over.
