Prof. Ogboghodo joined the service of the University of Benin as a Senior Lecturer in 2001. He was promoted Associate Professor and Professor in 2004 and 2007 respectively, which made him the First Professor in the Department of Soil Science and land Management in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin. He has served the University of Benin in several capacities including Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator, (2002/2003); Ag. Head, Department of Soil Science (2003-2005; 2007-2009); Faculty Representative, University Admissions Board (2005-2007); Chairman, University Farm Management Committee, (2012-2013); Member University Senate (2003-2005; 2007 till date); Dean, Faculty of Agriculture (December 1, 2011 to January 20, 2016), which made him to be the first Professor to be Dean from the Department of Soil Science and Land Management; Chairman, Committee on Part-Time Programmes (July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017, July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022). He is a member of some Professional Bodies including Soil Science Society of Nigeria and a Registered Soil Scientist (RSS) at the Nigeria Institute of Soil Science. Professor, I. A.
